Acquisition by Treacle of a 14,5% stake
in ERP.com - October 2001
Treacle are pleased to announce that we have purchased a
14,5% stake in ERP.com for R5,8 million.
Over the past nine months, we have actively been investigating
certain companies listed in the information technology, telecommunications
and electronics sectors of the JSE in an attempt to identify
small capitalisation companies that are offering high growth
prospects at relatively low price/earnings ratios and who
have strong, balanced management teams. In the process we
came across ERP.com and managed to secure a sizeable stake
in the company.
ERP.com Holdings consists of 5 operating subsidiaries each
of which has a clear focus area and solution capability.
SecureData, their largest division, provides products and
services in the IT Security market in areas such as anti-virus,
content security, intrusion detection, firewalls and network
asset management. It has the exclusive sub-Saharan distributorship
for Trend Micro with over 7 000 customers and an estimated
30-35% share of the anti-virus market providing strong annuity
revenue flows.
iServe is focused on the implementation, outsourcing and hosting
of SAP e-business solutions. The company is a mySAP.com business
partner and recently delivered the first SAP ASP solution
in South Africa.
ERP.com Services is focused on the implementation, support
and outsourcing of JD Edwards e-business solutions with over
50 customers representing a 35% share of the market.
Bateleur Customised Solutions provides network solutions
with a focus on thin client and server based computing architecture.
They have been CITRIX business partner of the year for the
last two consecutive years.
Activ8 was formed in August 2001 as sole distributor of the
PeopleSoft range of e-business solutions. The company took
over key personnel from PeopleSoft SA and a customer base
of 21 large corporations using PeopleSoft products. PeopleSoft
is one of the world leaders in enterprise applications software
with powerful internet based technology and world class solutions
in Human Resources, Customer Relationship Management, Financials
and Supply Chain. Activ8 recently concluded a major PeopleSoft
deal with the JD Group.
All ERP.com's companies are trading profitably from well-established
industry positions. In Treacle's opinion, ERP.com is one of
the few listed IT companies that will give investors a good
return on their money over the next 3-5 years.
