Treacle believes in and is committed to the implementation of meaningful and sustainable Black Economic Empowerment. In making investments, we ensure or influence adherence to the broader principles of transformation through:

• Equity participation by historically disadvantaged individuals
• Equity participation by historically disadvantaged individuals who are key members of management and staff
• Setting of employment equity targets to achieve a staff compliment representative of our country’s demographics
• Skills development and training
• Development of appropriate procurement policies
• Participation in social corporate investment

Treacle is also committed to contributing to the development of an internationally competitive workforce. Consequently the Treacle Foundation is a Trust established to assist in the development of historically disadvantaged individuals employed by companies in which we invest. This is achieved by way of a financial contribution for the further education, skills development and training of identified individuals.
